Why Familiae

Built Around Your Family's Pace

We keep things warm, practical, and pressure-free — because every family grows in its own time.

Strictly Educational

Every session is framed as general skill-building. Nothing replaces a qualified professional — and we are clear about that from the start.

No Pressure, No Rush

We pace sessions to suit participants. There is no fixed outcome expected — just space to explore and connect.

Sensitive to Context

Sessions acknowledge the diversity of family structures present in Bangkok — multi-generational, intercultural, blended. We do not assume a single model.

Tangible Keepsakes

The records organising activity ends with something families can hold and share — a folder they will return to over the years.

Private and Respectful

What families bring to sessions stays within those sessions. We handle shared information with discretion and care.

Community Warmth

The Generations Membership gives families access to a peer group of others on a similar path — for general sharing and encouragement, not personal advice.

Common Questions

Questions About Our Workshops

Are these sessions a form of counselling or family therapy?
No. All Familiae sessions are educational activities focused on communication skills and record-keeping. They are not counselling, therapy, mediation, or any regulated professional service. If your family needs individual professional support, we encourage you to consult a qualified practitioner.
Who can participate in the workshops?
Workshops are open to families of all structures — multi-generational households, parents and adult children, couples working on family history, and more. Sessions are conducted in English. Individual family members may attend with or without other family members depending on the activity.
How long does each workshop or activity take?
The Family Roots Conversation Workshop runs as a half-day session (approximately 3–4 hours). Family Tree & Records Organising typically requires 2–3 sessions depending on the volume of materials. The Generations Membership is ongoing with monthly workshops and community access.
What documents should we bring to the records organising activity?
We provide a preparation list when you book. Generally this includes photographs, any existing family notes or letters, and basic identity documents you are comfortable sharing in a private session. You are never required to bring documents you are not happy to handle in a group setting.
Are the prices per person or per family?
The Conversation Workshop (฿3,500) is priced per participant. The Records Organising activity (฿7,200) is priced per family unit for a standard set. The Generations Membership (฿11,800) covers one household. Contact us if you have a larger family group and we will be happy to discuss what works.
Can I join the Generations Membership without attending a workshop first?
Yes. The Generations Membership is open to new members directly. That said, many families find it helpful to start with the Conversation Workshop so they arrive already familiar with the general approach and can settle in more quickly to the community.
